Calvary Chapel Ojai Valley’s Community Action Partnership Program (CAPP) connects local businesses, non-profit organizations, donors, and volunteers to meet the practical needs within our community. Standing shoulder to shoulder with difference-makers across our county, we aim to lift lives and lighten the heavy burdens carried by many of our most vulnerable neighbors. We strive for a healthier, stronger, kinder, and more equitable society—one where everyone is better off and each person knows they are valued, respected, and loved. Together, we can make a difference.
We focus on five main areas:
- EMT – Education, Mentorship & Training
- Helping Hand – A Hand Up, Not a Hand Out
- Daily Bread – Food Pantry
- Love Your Neighborhood – One Neighbor at a Time
- Abundant Life Counseling – Hope & Healing, Renewal & Restoration for Individuals & Families

Please help us say THANK YOU to our community partners. We couldn’t do it without YOU!
A Special Note About Our Mission:
For over twenty years, Calvary Chapel Ojai Valley (CCOV) has been reaching out to residents of the Ojai Valley and Ventura in various ways. We have found that collaborating with other organizations and community members often leads to better outcomes for everyone. By partnering with numerous churches, non-profits, local government programs, and businesses, we have been able to accomplish far more than we could on our own.
At the start of 2020, we formally launched our Community Action Partnership Programs (CAPP), building upon two decades of strong relationships and partnerships. CAPP adds additional structure, intentional planning, and growth to help meet the unmet needs in our community. Partnerships enable us to leverage our collective strengths and resources, learn from one another, replicate best practices, and avoid duplicating efforts already being done well locally.
One key focus is to more formally, clearly, and publicly express our gratitude to our organizational and business partners. We aim to encourage our patrons to support them as well.
New social and economic challenges are emerging that are affecting the most vulnerable in our communities. As a result, we are seeing rapid growth in our CAPP program as we respond to these new needs. Please check back often, as the situation remains fluid.
Thank you for caring and for being involved.
Warmly,
Pastor Dan Nelson
