Administrative Intern

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all skills, responsibilities, and duties required of the position.

Position Summary

The CCOV Administrative Intern will help oversee the church’s general ledger and financial records and prepare related forms and reports as necessary. Also help ensure the church’s finances are in accord with the legal, ethical, and biblical standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

♦ Help keep accurate records of member tithes and contributions, and prepare year-end summaries for tax and individual review purposes.
♦ Help keep records of all church expenditures and compare to budget allowances.
♦ Help prepare financial reports for the executive pastor and church business meetings.
♦ Help track and prepare required forms for accountant and any required reporting agencies.
♦ Be available for church business meetings to help answer any questions regarding church finances.

Qualification Requirements

♦ Proficient in computer use specifically MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks or other Church Management Software.
♦ Have some bookkeeping or accounting background (experience).
♦ Must be detail oriented, be good with figures, and have good organizational skills.
♦ Must be a good steward, dependable and discreet.
♦ Must be spiritually mature with the love and desire to serve the church body.

Education

Must be a recent graduate or currently enrolled at least part time as a college or university student studying Bible and/or Ministry, Accounting or Finance, or in a program of similar nature.

Time Commitment

15 to 25 hours per week.
